Arrowcast - Jack Hill's Spider Baby

Welcome to the first Arrowcast; an ongoing podcast series driven by my partner in crime Sam Inglis (24 Frames Per Second) which focuses on the ever growing collection of cult and/or horror movies released by the wonderful ArrowVideo.  As a distributor they are a godsend to fans of cult cinema with a bulging back catalogue that includes a veritable treasure trove of the finest genre movies ever to be spawned from some of the darkest imaginations in cinema.

Here can be found some of the best movies from Italian masters of horror Dario Argento, Mario Bava and Lucio Fulci.  Or you can choose to dip your toes into the lurid depths of some of the finest examples of exploitation cinema ever to (dis)grace the silver screen.  Are you a fan of Tinto Brass, Frank Henenlotter, George Romero?  Look no further than Arrow Video.

The greatest thing about them is the respect they bestow upon everything from genre masterpieces to b-movie cheesefests to lost classics.  Great transfers are the norm and the majority of their DVDs/Blu-rays are packed with great extra features including riveting audio commentary tracks, newly minted documentaries and lots of great interviews with the talent involved.

The focus of the first Arrowcast is the typically special Arrow Blu-ray release of Jack Hill’s quirky, unsettling, funny, just plain incredible Spider Baby.  I would love to say more about it but that’s what the podcast is for.  So without further ado here is the first in what we hope will be the first of many Arrowcasts.  We hope you enjoy it and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
